Below is a letter I wrote to a yf - If this thing called Boylove is the Devil's doing then I rebuke satan and ask God to take this "affliction?" away. Cause the pain is to great to endure. If not for God and my faith that he made me who I am and BL is not a choice, I would not be here today. Hi ??????? I don’t know what you really think of me. I would like to think you don’t hate me, but if the last year is anything to go by I think you do. If it is any consolation I don’t hate you and I want you to know a day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t felt some hurt at the fact we are no longer friends. I still pray one day you will forgive me for whatever hurt I caused and that when you are older you will come to understand and trust me more. I ask you to believe me when I say I never meant to hurt or confuse you – you are the last person on the planet I ever thought I could hurt and for that I feel I failed, and I guess I did. It also hurt me when the other kids said things about you – if you ask them you will know I never said a bad word about you. I often told them not to do and say things but later I would discover they had done what I asked them not to do. This hurt me because I knew it hurt you and your mum. I like your mum I think she is a good woman, don’t disrespect her she is your best friend and I believe she did what she felt was best and what she felt was in your best interest. I am thankful that I could be part of your life for a year, you may not feel the same, but sometimes I hope you remember the person you once liked, the one you didn’t hate, the one you enjoyed spending time with and I hope I had some positive influence on your life, it would sadden me if I hadn’t or if the last year ruined all that – my fear is it did. I hope you do well at school this year and do better than you did last year, ############ can be tough but it only happens once in your life time so make the most of it. Stay friends with ???? I told you a long time ago he would be a friend who sticks by you, I will reinforce this. He is a worthy friend and may teach you about true friendship. Lastly, so you know – the thing I liked most about you was your desire to know about God, I pray you will seek God out later in life if not sooner. I felt I was closest to God when I was your age – I used to go into the bush and sit and think alone and pray, I felt closer to God when I was alone with nature, I found it peaceful, I always felt that if I looked close enough I could see God in everything. If you are ever bored – go walking or riding in the bush, take a bible with you and read it. It might help you understand me more. Look at the natural world that surrounds you and discover what beauty is there. These scriptures may help explain me more. Ask your religion teacher what they mean, if they confuse you, remember when reading them that Jesus said both of them. John 15:18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” Luke 20:34 “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die, for they are like angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.” I am giving you this ring and necklace – consider them late birthday/christmas presents. Don’t throw them away because they are from me, instead keep them for what they represent. The necklace if you wear it will represent forgiveness of a friend (ie. me) and the ring represents your desire to be closer to Christ.
