Disturbed-welcome to CBF, I glad you can post here. We have had this discussion on masterbation a cople times, and this is how I respond. Many people who think realistically about it realize that masterbation is a form of release. God made the sexual drive in humans very powerful, (especially in teen-agers-the whole hormone thing.) Masterbation is a way to release those frustrations and get rid of that tension in your life. It's OK. God doesn't mind us filling out other drives (like hunger and thirst) in acceptable ways (OK if you spend more than 6 hours filling up at the buffet, you have a problem). After all, your urges will be easier to control if you don't have so much "pressure" behind them. As for fantasys, those are OK too. People daydream, we have that ability as a way to solve problems and address issues cropping up in life.have Someone posted a couple months ago on the orthodox definition of "sinful thoughts." 1. It's OK to have random thoughts and dreams-those are really beyond your control. 2. It's OK to have harmless fantasys. That's human nature, it's the whole daybream thing. 3. It's NOT OK to use fantasys to plan actual harm to someone. In other words things that lead you to sin. If you are having dirty little daydreams about a kid, that's OK> When you start to actually do something and take steps to put your plan in effect, that's when you have sinned. For me, this means that I don't think about any boy who I actually know and see on a daily or regular basis. That just hits way to close to the bone for me. God made you who you are (and he doesn't make mistakes remember) He knows your stuggles he knows your desires. He didn't (wouldn't or even couldn't) do this to you out of spite or evil. He made you this way for a reason, and it won't be for an evil reason, that I promise you. Have faith in him and his divine plan. To sum up in fluent Caveman: Masterbation-good, fantasy-OK, God's love and promise for you, his child-fantastic. Just because we are oriented one way, does not mean we are molesters. It is not predetermined anywhere that we are crimminals, or we will hurt children. Remember that.
