Leave the first sentence as is, and remove "sexual" from the second. It would then read:

There are members in our Churches who are living with an attraction to minors. These people know all too well what the consequences of sharing about their attraction would mean for them and their families. Our Church policies on Child Sexual Abuse often talk about protecting children, but how can we really make true progress if we are shutting out the very people who are thought to be at-risk in harming them?

I think this better represents the reality of the situation today in which any attraction to kids, whether or not it actually has a sexual component, is under suspicion. It also allows for varying degrees of sexual and/or emotional attraction which, as pointed out in another post, run the gamut.
