Amazing story!

Seems to me there'd have to be no one easier to "come out" to than with one's very own AF... ;) though I guess you'd want to be sure about him all the same.

Seems to me you'd want to use "soft" words. For instance, it's easier to talk about being "gay" than being a "boylover". Try to talk to him about being in love with someone. If he's anything like me, you'll have to be persistent. I was talking with a friend lately about being in love, and he was asking me which girl I like. I ambivalently mumbled "well maybe this one", but I couldn't get myself to admit I like guys more, not even as "plain gay", though I would have if he had have asked directly. How much more difficult, then, is it to admit the "guys" you like could rather truthfully be called "boys"?...

I suggest asking him directly which girl he's interested in at the moment. If he gives some half-hearted umming and ahhing, then ask him directly if likes boys instead (or "guys" if you prefer, or ask "are you gay?"). But you'll have to comfort to him that you think he's OK if he is, or he'll just shutoff and laugh it away, not admitting to it. Then if he admits to that, you'll be in the clear... you can point out a cute teen on the beach and see how he reacts... ;)

One thing you want to think about. If he is a BL, then you want to think about what feelings he has for you now. Obviously a good deal of them still if he's invited you out after all this time. (I know I'm still in love with even my oldest YFs, even the married one). Then you have to ask yourself, what are your feelings towards him?...

I hope it'll be a most interesting summer... :)
