as the notes you've rediscovered imply, you had a good friend. You now have the option of letting him realise that you do now really appreciate what he did for you then, and, speaking as BL whose YFs have generally not been good at showing appreciation :-(, this would be a great gift. But don't try to rush on from there - he may find it helpful to talk about what there was between you, or he may just need to know, for now, someone appreciates him. Perhaps in a few months an opportunity will present to say where you're at - or it might occur naturally in the first time together, but just at first let him enjoy being appreciated; if he's anything like as isolated as I have been, this would be overwhelming in itself. Looking forward to hearing of a great reunion!! |
