I just wrote a paper proving Paul was a pederast, and so there is another saint whose intessory prayers shall further our cause Who'd you "prove" it to? How? When will your paper be published? Where? What's "our [pederasts?] cause"? Why are Paul's "intessory [sic] prayers" needed? I don't mind speculating that Paul's "thorn in the flesh" was very similar to our own as "boylovers," but I just can't picture him in heaven praying that we be made free of this "thorn" so that we can act out sexually with young boys guilt-free. The flesh has always been something to be overcome. We need to channel these feelings into healthy outlets -- mentoring, discipling, teaching, caring, sharing, protecting, understanding, exhorting, encouraging, etc. Compare the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit in Paul's letter to the Galatians (5:19-23). Paul himself said, "Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh...they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts" (Gal 5:16, 24). Paul called his "thorn in the flesh" a weakness. It was something he tried to overcome, or something his spirit had to battle against, at least in part. If Paul did make it to heaven as a "boylover," then it was because of God's grace that he was able to overcome the lustful aspects of being a boylover (2 Cor 12:7-10, Gal 5:24). I don't believe he felt he could ever make it to heaven as a "pederast" (one who has anal intercourse with a boy). What's so spiritual about that? Splash |
