CBF is back!

Hello everyone!

You may remember me from when I posted here last winter. (I added the "2" to the end of my name because I have forgotten my password! I never even got to use it! That problem should soon be resolved.)

Just wanted to let everyone know that my bipolar disorder was acting up back then, when I was posting before. I was getting pretty manic there in December and January. I have no idea whether that was apparent from what I wrote or not, though from what I can remember saying I think I still expressed my ideas fairly accurately in spite of it. I don't remember saying anything that I don't still believe. Though I don't usually think about the sexual aspects of boylove quite so much as I did back then. Well, that's mania for you. Fun at the time, but afterwards, sheeeesh!

I'm glad to be back here, but I do want to say that I have one reservation. After skimming through the oldposts from January through April that I missed, it seems that there has been a pretty heavy fundamentalist tone to things sometimes. I don't want to be disrespectful to anyone's beliefs, and I want to respect the attitudes of the majority of the people on this board, but I must say that, personally, there are certain aspects of fundamentalism that are deeply at odds with my own beliefs about the Christian faith. I am not a fundamentalist, and I am not looking to participate in a discussion board that is primarily going to consist of arguments between fundamentalists and liberals. I hope that is not what CBF is going to be about. What I really need right now in my life is a support forum with a loving atmosphere.

With regards to the issue of boylove, I believe that it is a gift from God and not a sin or something to be "controlled" or repressed. I believe there is a split within our community here. It's similar to the difference between gay-affirming churches and ex-gay ministries. On one side, we believe that our sexuality is a gift to be affirmed and used wisely, and on the other we believe it is an evil temptation that needs to be overcome and, ultimately, denied. I am of the former group, but I am not quite sure if I will fit in here. There seem to be a lot more people from the latter group.

Well, I'll stick around and see how things go. I just wanted to say all that to let you know where I am coming from, not to be harsh against anyone else.
