A praise Report

I was just at camp two weeks ago and I met a boy who we'll call JS. JS and I were meant to meet each other. I'm just convinced of this. It's just him, his three sisters, and his mom at home. He's such a... how do you say.... He's a girl. Although he really is one of the cutest boy's I've ever met. He's one of those poster boys. Really cute and great personality. Nothing can hit him. Except I Found out what did get him down. :-( It was the last day and JS and I knew each other very well by now. We were in chapel and I invited him to sit next to me. We usually sit with cabins, but I sort of stole him! ;-) Anyway, he sat next to me and I started talking. "So, how long has your dad been gone?" ANd as soon as I said that cheerful, happy-go-lucky JS turned off. He was so dead pan. And he said, "A year and a half." HE's only 10. I told him I could sympathize because my dad left me when I was 7. Well, last Saturday I saw the lil guy online. So I invited him to go to Six Flags with me! Well, he wanted to so I called up his mom and found out a few more things about JS. It really breaks my heart to think about ALL the stuff he went through. But that's ok. He's a great kid. He has no friends. Actually he has a 28 year old friend. That made me chuckle a bit. But anyway, yeah. He's a great kid and I can't wait to go to Six Flags this Saturday. Pray for us. I'm going to share the gospel with him again. And I hope to really touch his life even more! God bless you all, Huck Finn "In Christ" |
