| It's interesting to note that the Bible itself has many stories containing violence and other cases of people doing bad things to each other, yet that does not mean that God is condoning those evil behaviors. The stories are there to illustrate the realities of life, both good and bad, so that we can learn to choose the good. Knowing or thinking about evil is not the same thing as wanting to be evil. Instead of averting our eyes from human suffering, how about looking upon it with compassion? That is what I think God would want. But the Bible itself has often been censored by people who do not understand the way that the human imagination works. |
