A central word in the preaching of gospel in Acts is 'Repentance' - and this has something to do with a determined commitment to go God's way as far as you can discern it with the help of the Holy Spirit, the church and the bible. Given its priority in the bible, I find it impossible to take seriously the efforts of certain Christian leaders to downplay this element of the faith. On the other hand it is equally clear that 'If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness'; there is always a way back to God however far we have gone.
