Still on vacation... (very slightly off topic)

Just saying everything's OK.

Living in a dull colorless and generally dirty city can make one appreciate nature a heck of a lot. As I hopped in my speedboat to catch the fourth of July fireworks across the Lake, I looked at the sky, it seemed so close, I felt like if I could jump just high enough I could grab the clouds. I look down and I see a vast moving blue sheet under me, supporting me. Seeing this large lake again after many years makes me truely sense it's beauty, and being on it, cruising at 3,000 RPM over it makes me feel like it's alive. I felt like nature was enveloping me, welcoming me back after my urban isolation. After the sun set, I rejoiced along with the rest of my country the anniversary of independance.

Just yesterday, I began to wonder... if God were to ever send me a message, or to truely inspire me, it would be here of course. I sat on a rock at the edge of our breakwater (a collection of large rocks that protect the dock from waves), I was hanging my feet in the fairly choppy water just looking down.

It was moving enough that the surface was opaque, but as my thoughts began to wander, contemplating why I go on, why I should go back to my new home, the wind stopped and the water stilled. I saw my legs under the surface, and the sandy ground beneath them. I saw how each time I moved my legs, the effect it had on the water moved many grains of sand around, rearranging them.

I was in a creative mood, so I figured it must mean that I exist for the sake of others. I am here because every action I take affects other lives, hopefully for the better. Perhaps that was a message, perhaps not. At least it's a relevant idea, and it's encouraging. Just my very existance is helping others. The fact that I am a consumer means I help many earn their lively hood, the fact that I talk to people can lead to their entertainment, enlightenment, education or just help them kill time before their next activity.

Well, can't spend too long here, out here the ISP is a long distance call.

See ya!
