Most of us don't call the boys we love "partners" (since that implies a sexual relationship and most of us here don't seek sexual relationships with boys) -- we call them "young friends" (YFs). Also, you mentioned NAMBLA. I don't think "knee-jerk persecution" defines most people who are against NAMBLA. I am anti-NAMBLA and for good reason. The "knee-jerk persecution" I see in this group comes from outsiders that know very little about us. They don't understand the term "boylove" and immediately think of the stereotypical pedophile that collects child pornography and pursues kids in his neighborhood for the purpose of acting out sexually with them. Most of us don't come close to that stereotype. Maybe this is an area you should research: What peoples or groups are unfairly persecuted by others because of "knee-jerk" stereotyping? How? Why? ...cause & effect. I wish you the best on your article. |
