Hello again,

I feel so blessed to be able to be here twice in a week's time.

You are very right when you say that God finds sin reprehensible and offensive. He does indeed. God hates sin and cannot stand it's presence. However, sin is an ever-present reality in the lives of His most beloved children here on earth.

In the story about the prodigal son, when the son finally came to his senses and returned to his father in shame, his father reacted in a most supprising way....at least it was probably supprising to the audience Jesus was telling it to... He ran up to his son and threw his arms around the boy who was undoubtedly filthy and still reeking of pigs (an unclean animal to Jews..). He then told his servants to clean him up and give him a ring and a robe..etc. He never told the son that first he had to clean himself up, or make himself presentable.

God accepts us the way we are, always. That is how great His love is for us. Is that an excuse to sin away and not worry about it? No way. But I doubt that a child of God who see's this kind of love and forgiveness for what it really is, how great it really is, will see sin in thier lives in this rather worldly way of looking at it. But it takes time in our lives to develope this kind of perspective, I think. Believe me, I'm still working on it too.

I think we would do well to learn to be more patient with ourselves and try to see how God is constantntly at work in our lives. He never stops His work within us, even though sometimes it's difficult for us to see any results.

God bless you, brother, you have actually helped me to do a lot of thinking. Thank you.

Love in Jesus Christ,
Chris
