First off, you didn't indicate that you were a professional, so I assumed that you were doing volunteer work. However, you still seem to be about to burn out. How large is your case load? Are there any who can be transferred to someone else at least for a time? One thing that I do when things get too close to burning out for me is to set up a "paper victim" and either write or paint out my anger and frustration on paper. I'd rather not show anyone--other than my counsellors--just how bad things get. And sometimes after I finish a project, I destroy it as a further means of releasing the negative emotions I have and don't want. This is about all the advice I can give |
