Laws of Men, laws of God...

(Sorry about my quietness as of late. I blame it on school starting)

America, though the first to make Freedom of Speech a right, would be the first to admit that with that freedom comes great responsability.

For example, we wouldn't allow a troll to post here saying nothing but profanities and spamming the forum until he's buried all the other threads. (A bit of an exagerrated example here, sorry)

I don't like to belittle any religion at all, especially Christianity (though if any of you really know me, you know that I am, at the moment, struggling to find faith) but though it the belief that God's law is above any nation's law, many religions believe the same thing.

A lot of my relatives here in Ireland are perplexed that no religious activites are allowed in American public schools. That's because all schools here were founded by some religious order, therefore they are all private, can indoctorinate students as much as they wish, and can enforce things like uniforms freely.

What I try to tell them is that freedom of religion is something incredable important to Americans, many of whom sttled there to flee persecution. Though the Irish Catholics were persecuted, they responded (when they acheived their own government) by making the Catholic Church have a special position in the state.

This was only repealed 3 years ago, and the government's being more PC nowadays, building a very large mosque around my area.

My point is, though it's very similar to Bach's, let yourself be an example. Inspire them by selflessness, and most likely it will elevate them beyond bitterness and draw them to the open arms of the Church. After all, they would probably fall in love with the story of Jesus, easily being able to identify with it having experianced a similar form of kindness that Jesus exercised.

I hope I didn't sound too rambling, and I usually try to stay out of debates regarding ethics, morality and all that according to religion, because even though I know a fair bit about religion, I'm no theology major, as some people here seem to be :)
