Jesus Christ ate with sinners... why shouldn't we?

Why do you believe that such status needs to be "granted" by Congress to make it so?

But I wasn't aware that gays were already an acknowledged special interest group. Or are you saying that they are a special interest group by the fact that they are organized and lobbying for their "rights"?

I would argue the simple fact that because the Christian Right needs to lobby against them, this proves their existence.

Actually I think the church would be a better entity to handle that ever present problem.
I agree that churches could and should do a better job than government at addressing the needs of society's marginalized.

I believe that should be done only with gays and lesbians who are Christians themselves.
I don't think this reflects Biblical teaching at all. Christ called us to love every human being, as each person is made in God's image, not just those who profess Christian faith. But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
