I agree with Forgiven's stance here, and I think I need to clarify my position. My last two posts may have sounded contradictory (passive vs. aggressive Christianity). As I said before, I don't agree with forcing one's beliefs by passing laws and en-force-ing others to follow them. But I do think it's important that Christians "stand" for freedom of speech and religion. If Christians don't maintain some kind of presence in the political arena to protect the rights they've already been granted, then these rights may someday be taken from them. It is a very important part of the Christian faith to be able to practice freely and share (not force) their faith with others. These are the rights we need to protect (i.e. without being hypocritical, of course).
