Hi Dusk,

Honestly, I do not believe it is possable to stop sexual fantasies one-hundred percent. I believe they are just too ingrained in our thinking. However, I have found a very excelent way to deal with them.

I used to try to attack the thoughts directly, by trying to forcefully redirect my thinking to something else. This was very difficult and nine times out of ten, it really didn't work anyway. I have tried to pray them away, laugh them away, cry them away, ignore them, confess them, redirect them...none of these methods have worked very well, if at all.

However, I can truthfully tell you now that, for the most part, fantasies do not pose a bother or a threat to me now. Here is what I have found out: Put God First!

I know that sounds simple and maybe even difficult to do, but let me assure you it is the way that works. What I mean by putting God first is not some kind of excersize in self-denial. It means to simply love God way above and beyond anything else in your life. And this is indeed possable to do.

Every day I am in almost constant prayer with God. But it's not a complicated prayer, actually. Mostly, I just tell Him that I love Him. I do other kinds of prayer as well, but my prayer through-out the day is normally a simple,"I love you, Lord." Or,"I love you so much, Jesus.". I have been practicing this kind of prayer for quite a while now, and I have seen some pretty amazing results.

I also confirm God's love for me the same way. Just saying,"God loves you with all of His heart, Chris." to myself is a great way of doing this.

I have found that this simple prayer or meditation excersize is probably one of THE most powerful ways I have come to be able to keep my Father first in my life. And because He is first, I really have no problem with any other kind of thinking, even sexual fantasies. In fact, the fantasy thinking has gone way down (gradually, of course...), and the "faith" thinking way up.

I hope that helps you, brother.

In Christ's Love,
Chris
