Hi Dakota, You don't know me but I have, in much better times, been a regular here. I don't get here very often now, but I am glad I did today. Would you look at all the responses to your question. I wonder if a LOT of us have had (or are having) the very same problem?! This is how I approach this problem. First, I must always be absolutely honest with myself about my thoughts and feelings regarding boys in general. Wether it's a picture or a real, live boy, I know for a fact that there will be at least some degree of attraction...and yes, that includes the sexual kind as well. I have, in time, developed a way of handling my feelings without becoming upset over having them. First, I know I WILL have them. I accept that. Second, I know I must go further than simply accepting the feelings, so.... Third, I give them to God and then I thank (!) Him for making me a very good and special person, and that I absolutely love Him for everything in my life, even the things I don't understand or the things that look like they are bad or even ARE bad. Remember brother, all things work together for the GOOD of those who are in Christ. Keep trudging on and don't feel so badly about mistakes or minor set-backs. We are ALL children to our Lord, and ALL of us are still learning and growing. I'm glad I have brothers like you to do it with! Love In Christ Jesus, Chris |
