Be true to yourself

It sounds corny, but it's still true. Be true to yourself. Most people want to make their parents proud of them. Sometimes it's impossible, like when dad wants junior to be a football star, but the son has no athletic ability. Or if the parents want their kid to be a doctor, but the kid has a hard time making a C in school. Just as these kids can't force themselves to be athletic or smart, you can't force yourself not to be a pedophile. I have to disagree with Keybman when he says God put your mom's feelings against gays and/or pedophiles in her heart. Everything in our hearts does not come from God. Some comes from Satan and some from our own desires and sinful nature that we have been born with since Adam and Eve got kicked out of Eden. I don't want to get into whether God put pedophilia in us, because that is open for debate. But aside from my love and caring for boys, there is also a strong sexual desire for them. In simple terms, I want to sin with them. And sin is never from God. There are many major and minor sins all Christians struggle with each day, and it isn't because God put that in their hearts. I believe prejudice is also a sin, and that is what is in your mom's heart. that doesn't make her a bad person, just a normal person with normal struggles and misconceptions. It's possible that you might be the catalyst for her to rethink those misconcetions. She might come to realize that while certain actions can be sinful, sexual orientation cannot. In regards to the gay/pedophile issue, some pedophiles are gay and some aren't. And not all gays are pedophiles. Personally, I am sexually attracted to women as well as boys. But for some reason that I can't explain, I have no attraction to men. Go figure. Dakota |
