I decided to post a message just to let everyone know that I am quite fascinated and encouraged by what I've read here. This will be the first admission to anyone that I fit (to some degree) in this category. My relationship with Jesus is the most important thing to me. I have been a Christian for a long time, but that relationship seems to be just getting started and still shallow, but then again, there is an infinite depth to plumb. God has used me in the lives of kids, and sometimes I am truly amazed that He could or would, but the obviousness of His power in some situations is too great to deny. I have younger guys coming to me and saying that they would be [spiritually] nowhere, without their friendship with me. Please accept that only as an indication of God's working, not of any goodness or ability in me. He so wants to fill young people with His love and His life, and for some reason He only knows, He has used me in the process. I have more to say, much much more, but be patient with me as I struggle with even the concept of talking about these things. I think one of the most encouraging things that a person could post in a group like this would be anecdotes about God's love and acceptance and His willingness to involve even them in His work. Evidences that they are not second-class believers, but receive the same level of affection from He who loves beyond our ability to comprehend. |
