This reminds me of another thread we had going awhile back where we were discussing whether everyone had the potential to become sexually attracted in a "normal" heterosexual way. I proposed that all of us are sexually attracted to all other human beings - at least in some small way - and that the types of person which become our primary sexual attraction are learned. Now, I think that it is the people who are meeting our emotional needs most consistently who begin to fill our thoughts, and eventually, our fantasies. It opens the possibility that I could - for example - train myself to have a primary sexual attraction toward women. (So far, it seems to be working, too!) Your progression of attraction to different kinds of people is a good example of how the sexual response can follow our emotional passion. Huck, I don't think you are weird. It sounds too much like what I went through! Nate |
