There was a movie a few years back about a father (divorced) whose daughter saw him naked in the bathroom and asked to touch his penis. Not wanting to discourage her clearly intellectual interest in sexual development, he agreed. The next thing he knew, he was in court, charged by his ex-wife with child sexual abuse. So we're really dealing with two issues here: what would be best for the boys, and what would be best for you - which ends up being the same as what would be best for the boys, since they would be dragged through the courts if you were arrested. So, no, I wouldn't hold a conversation with two strange boys about their arousals. I'm sure that everything you said is true, but in our society it just isn't regarded as normal for an adult to discuss sexual matters with kids, unless they're his own kids or he has been authorized by the parents to take on a mentoring role. A quick smile and a quicker exit is what I would have recommended. On the other topic, I'll look forward to hearing more about your female dilemma some time. "It reminds me of a passage I read once in an early Christian text about one of the church fathers as a teenager (I think it was Origen), and how the men at the Roman baths applauded his first visible arousal there." I can just imagine what Origen had to say on the subject. :) |
