Hi Chris, In order to answer your question as it would apply to me, I first must address something that you said: "Do you think you would act like those Christians who believe we all MUST be heterosexual to be loved or accepted by God?" This statement implies that my belief in Christianity is based on the degree to which I find myself able to adhere to it. Such a conclusion doesn't hold water for me. If God exists and created the earth, if he had the power to send his Son to earth to die for me, than certainly little me has no power to change what it means to be accepted by God. God's standard is not that we all be heterosexual. We have no idea if Paul or Jesus were heterosexual or something else. Paul spoke about the thorn in his flesh (2 Cor 12:7) and Jesus was tempted in the desert for 40 days. The bible does speak against homosexual actions, but it also speaks against all forms of lust and idolatry. The bottom line is that we all sin, and we all fall short (Romans 3:23). It is our belief in Christ that atones for our sins, sins that we really do not have the power change on our own. And with God's spirit we can change and grow in our character. This does not mean that we change overnight, but our faith does heal us (as it did many who came into contact with Jesus during his ministry on earth). So, if I were no longer a BL, I am quite sure that there would be other struggles and other challenges in my life. Most probably, I would not be Christian at all, for it was my BL which caused me to make a greater search than most would. Yes, I do very much want a family and a normal life. But I also know too that the grass is always greener on the other side of the street. I accept that God created me this way and I would embrace a change, but will never be bitter for being who I am.
