Woe to the worthless shepherd!

Dear Forgiven,

The one through whom I became a Christian (at the age of fourteen) was my dad, who died five weeks later. His church was in another city and my mother forbade me to attend a church where we lived when I first became a believer. When I was old enough to exercise any control over attending a church of my choice, I reached out to the only Christians I knew – those at school and at work. This time of my life was the period I described previously where I was reaching out for help and was told to go to hell. I’ve never been thrown out of a church because I’ve never been in one or even invited.

I am glad to hear that your church stuck by you and perhaps, as you’ve indicated has been the case for others, this board can be a source of fellowship.

Take care and God bless,
J

Then the LORD said to me, “Take again the equipment of a foolish shepherd. For I am going to raise up a shepherd over the land who will not care for the lost, or seek the young, or heal the injured, or feed the healthy, but will eat the meat of the choice sheep, tearing off their hoofs.

Woe to the worthless shepherd,
..who deserts the flock!
May the sword strike his arm and his right eye!
..May his arm be completely withered,
..his right eye totally blinded!”

Zechariah 11:15-17
