Hi John, It is so important that you gain a perspective about who you are in God's eyes. We are ALL sinners, all in need of God's grace. Your sin is more disliked by society than many other sins, but they are no graver. You mustn't look at society's judgement, but only to God for judgement. Would it make any sense that God's heavenly standard is determined by the parents in the wrestling community? What you need to deal with is the hurt and shame of those whose respect and acceptance you would like to have. Nobody wants to be shunned and the impact on your relationship with your family has got to be painful. I will pray though that you go to God for your answers, not to others. I would stay humble, pray for wisdom and not fight people to think you are one thing or another thing. In the case of minor attraction, there is such wide misunderstanding of who we are as individuals that you will only hit your head on a brick wall if you look to societal standards. Yes, you have to obey the law (and it sounds like you do). Society doesn't judge sin, God does. You are not alone. Love, Ben |
