Totally Shocked,
Unfortunately in today's world, you can never put enough effort into making sure that you protect yourself against accusation. No, you did nothing wrong so you really have nothing to worry about. But it is not a question of doing something wrong, but just of being wise in what situations you allow yourself into.

For myself, I do not spend time alone with children unless I have personal and deep relationships with their parents. Many good friends of mine have asked me to spend with with their kids and I have done so willingly and without problem. I would not spent alone time though with a child in my ministry unless another person is present.

I have found that when you make this conviction clear to people up front, they automatically have a feeling that you are helping them feel that their child is well protected.

Jesus' example is only valid among the fellowship of believers. Therefore, if the parents of your child are not true Christians then they are not going to share your convictions. I am fortunate, in that my church is full of people who try to live what the bible says. While this life is a hard life, it does mean that people are more receptive to a spiritual view of things.

Just my two cents.

You are not alone.

Love,
Ben
