Hi Christopher, I'm glad that you found your way here. I am also VERY grateful to know that your preist reacted to you the way that he did. Such a natural understanding of grace is not so common in the Catholic Church, which often puts more emphasis on condemnation. Good for you for being open as well. I can completely relate to how you feel when you are around young boys. I remember vividly as a teenager, being in a Chinese restaurant with my family one night. Suddenly, a boy walked into the restaurant who I had been abolutely infatuated with at school (he was in 6th grade and me in 8th). I litterally dropped my fork and all desire for food rushed from my body. I couldn't speak to anyone and I excused myself to go to the bathroom. The butterflies remained for the whole evening. My only suggestion is that you get a copy of the bible and start reading it, keep posting here and get involved with boys in a positive way. Volunteer to do something so that you get to know them as people, and do not go the route of idolizing them that I did. You have a much better chance of building normal relationships with them that way. You are not alone. Love, Ben |
