Hi Jack,
(I guess that's probably NOT a good thing to say on a comercial flight right now, is it...?)

That was a good question. Way back in the days of old (ok, ok, about ten years ago or so), when I was happily in a wonderful relationship with my Y.F., "L", his mom and his grandparents were a great concern of mine. I met "L" through a friendship I had with his mom and adoptive dad. I would go to thier house and while they fought with each other (which was just awful), "L" would see me sitting by myself and would come over and talk with me. It didn't take too many times like that before he and I were great friends. The day he threw his arms around my neck and said,"I love you Chris!!!", oh man...that did it for both of us! SIGH!!!

Anyway, "L"'s parents eventually broke up and he moved in with his grandparents for a while so his mom could get it together a little better financially. I had been picking him up every week-end up until then but when I went to his granparent's house to get him, his grandpa sat me down at the kitchen table and asked me, point-blank..,"Are you having sex with "L"?"!!! I could have had a heart attack right there, but because I was ALWAYS above-board with everything I ever did with "L", and we never got into anything sexual at all, I calmed down and just told him,"What, are you kidding?...Heck No!" After that, "L"'s grandfather and I became fairly good friends in time, and he loved it when I would come over to get "L" because he was a war veteran and always had tons of stories to tell me...the kind the rest of his family, including "L", found too borring to sit through.

I had also had several talks with "L"'s mom durring the time I that he and I were friends. She really appreciated that and the fact that it was always me who came to her to talk.

Because of my experiences, I believe that it is of utmost importance to maintain a good, honest, and open relationship with the parents of one's Y.F.. Also, this is another excellent reason NOT to get into a sexual relationship with the boy!

I hope that helps...God Bless!

Love in Christ Jesus,
Chris
