Hi Etenne, First and foremost I am truly sorry for the pain that you have suffered because of Christianity. I have heard many of the horror stories of condemnation and hypocracy within the many denominations. I am grateful to have found a church which truly seems to understand God's message of redemption and subsequent reconnection with God through Jesus. That aside, I have to believe that if Jesus had the power to overcome death itself, he has the power to change you. Now whether or not it is God's will to do so is quite a different story. The bible is full of great men who struggled. Even David himself, a spiritual hero, fell into lust, adultery and eventually murder. Yet God used him in great ways. Paul talked often about his own struggles. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 he quotes Jesus saying, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. Paul talks about his very weakness being a medium on which Christ can operate. I would not give up hope that God can change your orientation, but I would not expect it either. God will still use you (as he obviously has and will continue to) and the unique gifts that come with being a BL. I would not recommend reading Job until you clearly understand and share this conviction. Should that time arise we can talk more. You are not alone. Love, Ben |
