Dear Jack Wade, Definitely not blowing wind and thanks for your comments. Back in 1994, I got up the guts to start buying Teen magazines solely for posters and write-ups on Jonathan Taylor Thomas, whom I was head over heels in love with at the time. My infatuation with him caused me a great deal of grief and after much prayer I wound up writing to him about the Lord. Having written that letter, I was able to bring my feelings for him into an acceptable context. From that point on, I haven’t had infatuations with boy celebrities even though I’ve had favorites such as David Gallagher (7th Heaven), Kyle Donnelly (Chippendiddys), Joseph Mazzello (Radio Flyer, The Cure, Simon Birch), and Haley Joel Osment (The 6th Sense, Pay It Forward, AI). Yes, the boy from “Home Alone” (Macaulay Culkin) was very cute. One good thing about being ‘outed’ as a BL (I outed myself in 1996) is I can have a nice big collection of boy movies out in the open without anyone thinking twice. And my 1996 JTT calendar was a nice addition to my bedroom that year! Thanks for the citation from Joshua 24:15 to remind us that we are here to serve the Lord. My downfall back in 1998 began by placing the love I had (still have) for my YF above my love for the Lord. I lost sight of what was important and caused my YF great grief. I rededicated my life to Jesus while in prison and since then have sought to put Him first always. Once again, thanks for your comments. Take care and God bless, J |
