It could only be posessed by someone who did not want to use its power. I have long been fascinated by the fact that Christianity is the only religion wherein the practitioner does not seek to increase his/her own power (after Lucifer), but rather seeks to empty the self and become a servant to God. Jesus was called the Rock in the Wilderness, He gives us eternal life. He is not fooled by those who would use Him selfishly, but is only found by the meek and humble - those that come to Him "as a little child." Could the theme of this cultish tale be centered around a symbol of the Christ? I don't know, but I was surprised to see it there. Nate |
