Hello One and All, Last night my good friend Andy called me on the phone right after I got back from Christmas Carroling (a wonderful thing to do and I highly recomend it to even those of us who, like me, have a voice like a bullfrog.). He asked me if I had read the string of posts between J and Splash! and I had to admit that I had not because my on-line time is always limmited. So he read the entire string of posts to me and has also printed them out so he can send them to me. Friends, when he finnished reading all that over the phone, all I can say is that it just floored me and when I got off the phone I proceeded to thank God for His work in all of our lives. I thanked God and I was also very inspired to write... to the entire world and also, the vast majority of the Christian family, we who are boylovers are seen as dispised by God and cursed by Him. We are considered to be black sheep, outcasts, and damned to Hell because of a thing we never asked for and almost always fail in any attempt to rid ourselves of it. Even our most heart-felt and honest prayers, endless pleas to God for a change in our orientation are fruitless. It is almost as if God has used us as a punch-line in a very cruel joke and we are doomed to hell from our very conception in the womb. Yet, deep within our hearts exists the truth that we who are weak and weary from the combined abuse of the world AND Church, we who are lowly and dispised by all, are really very much loved and cherished by God! Can this really be true? Does God have a plan for us in spite of everything we have ever been taught to believe about ourselves by a self-righteous church who are convinced they are helping us to "see the light" but instead hurt us deeply and then wonder, "What went wrong?" as we turn away from them in disgust and dismay. And they certainly do SEEM to hold the truth as they quote verse after verse to condemn us. They do a great job in convincing themselves that they are right. So much so that they can easily convince us as well. But still, within our hearts we find a higher truth! A truth that has been hidden there by God Himself and can be confirmed by His Word. Here is that truth: "But God chose the foolish things of this world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of this world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the dispised things- and the things that are not- to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him." 1 Cor. 1:27-29 Please brothers, take heart in your love for God and your work with one another and within the confines of a short-sighted world. We are not only greatly loved and cherished by our Father but His work for us is considerably more honerable than most can imagine! Love in Christ Jesus, Chris |
