Frustration

As I've stated I'm a girl-lover. I consider it a gift and use it to help the teens in my church's youth ministry. Neverthless, many times it has really frustrated me. In a way, it seems boylovers have it a bit easier. Yes, I know we both face persecution, prejudice and hatred because of our predilection. However, think about it, you can spend times with the boys you love. Yes, you probably can't reveal your feelings to him but can do so indirectly. As for me, the only time I spend with teenage girls is during ministry activities. I enjoy them and the time I spend with the girls there, especially "Lindsay". (I call her that since she looks like Lindsay Lohan from "Parent Trap") Still, I wish I could get closer to her. I'd like to take part in the other activities she enjoys or go to the movies, etc. Somewhere along the way, it became right for children to have only adult "friends" of the same sex. If I show some interest in getting to know her more, it's automatically suspect. It's assumed I'm a child molestor seeking my next victim and don't care about her beyond my needs. I do care about her a great deal. I know I can contribute more to her life than I'm currently allowed to now but I'm denied the opportunity. So I'll continue to help her as much as I can but silently cry knowing it be so much more than this.

Sincerely,

Dream Weaver
