Hi Splash!,

And here I thought I was the only one who walked through the stores with red eyes. I'm just kidding, I know that the pre-holiday, durring holiday, and post-holiday blues are pretty common. It's sad because Christmas is supposed to be a time of great joy, especially for Christians.

I will be keeping you in my prayers as you search for a church to be a part of. I'll tell you what, if it HADN'T been for my pastor, who has also become a very close friend, I do not think I would have done very well at all! He gave me a book for Christmas, by the way, and I am so impressed with it, and the obvious thought that went into it's purchase, that I have been just glued to it every day. It is a fairly well-known devotional book by Oswald Chambers called,"My Utmost For His Highest".

Normally I'm not really very good with devotional books but this one has been impressing me from the very start. I highly recomend it because it is inspirational and very challenging to one's faith and walk with God. In fact, I would like to quote a passage that spoke volumes to me. It is about dealing with the past.

"Our yesterday's hold broken and irreversible things for us. It is true that we have lost opportunities that will never return, but God can transform this destructive anxiety into a constructive thoughtfulness for the future. Let the past rest, but let it rest in the sweet embrace of Christ."

That was the entry for today, December 31. I am impressed with this because I have had quite a difficult time with my thoughts lately. I keep going over the events of the past and keep analising everything over and over in my head. While a little of that is good, a lot of it can be a real problem.

Anyway, thank you for sharring your thoughts with me, Splash!. I am certain that our Father will see us both through any kind of situation....even the "Holiday Blues". God Bless!

Love in Christ Jesus,
Chris
