It is only true if you say that straight ppl are to some extent a threat - though to varying extents. To your question could you imagine them ever saying the following? the answer is yes I could. I sure couldn't. At least not for another few decades. I am researching the methods of evaluation and treatment of "juvenile sex offenders," which routinely include non-violent children or teenagers who participated in willing sexual activity with someone 2 or more years younger, as well as non-violent adolescents who have not committed a crime but whose "deviant" sexual feelings were somehow discovered. Reading about the methods used, and case stories of those who have experienced it, one feels that one has descended into hell. The methods of evaluation and treatment used on these youths blatantly disregard basic ethical principles of mental health care (for example, coerced consent, psychologically dangerous methods with no proven effectiveness, therapies based on stereotypes rather than accurate evalutions of patients, use of unapproved drugs, etc., etc.). |
