Hi Avatar,
I do vaguely remember your nick. I'm sorry for not remembering more, but I do appreciate your sentiments about the boychat days of past.

Your question is definately the right one. God speaks to Christians through the Word (scripture) and through prayer. The scriptures more or less say that those who 'cannot control themselves' should marry but those 'who are not compelled' do not need to. Now, I'm not sure if they actually cover the scenario where you ARE COMPELLED, but not towards women. I have to believe that marrying is always a right choice, because it is God's design for men and women to marry. Nevertheless, I am NOT prepared to share my attraction with my girlfriend. I would share with her what I call a 'general struggle with pornography' meaning that I do have a habit of looking at pictures and fantasizing and all of that. It would explain to her my potential lack of passion for her without giving too much detail. Being a devout Christian does not open someone to a great deal of acceptance of pedophiles, even those who do not molest children. Also, I do believe strongly that my passion for boys is driving me in a right and Godly way to help boys in my church who need a man to guide them. I would not jeopardize that scenario under any circumstances. Right or wrong, I am quite sure that I would not share it with her.

That is one half of the answer. The other answer is prayer. At this moment, God is saying 'yes, get married' through prayer but I'm open to him changing his mind.

Thanks for your input. It is valuable and I appreciate it.

You are not alone.

Love,
Ben
