....I would like to discuss this with you further! Hi Ben, It sounds like your chruch has a very good program going on. And it sounds like they are at least approaching that addiction in a right way. One thing that I have found out so far is that there ARE some twelve-step programs or groups already "out there" aimed at the "problem" of homosexuality. They profess to be Christian, and I am sure they are indeed run by well-meaning Christians, but thier aproach is all wrong when they apply the 12 steps of A.A. and try to addapt them to thier program. This is why they are wrong. In A.A., an alcoholic is not trying to become something he is not, i.e. a normal drinker. This is not possible. Instead, the alcoholic learns ways to live his life without drinking. Thsi is where A.A. and these other groups, "Homosexuals Anonimous" if you will, part ways. The anti-gay groups (as it turns out they really are...) are trying to turn Gays into Straights. AND they profess to be Christian as well which really gets to be confusing! The better way, as I see it, is also a way which would follow the path of A.A.. That is, to find real ways in which sexual varients like Gays, or B.L.'s, can live at peace within society without going against society's chosen norms AND, more importantly, to be able to come together as a support group to be able to help one another as no outsider possably can! Anyway, that's my "dream" if you will. And I think it can happen but it is probably going to take some time, perhaps a long time, and also a certain amount of commitment from people who have the same dream. I hope I didn't come across as being too strong or negative towards the good folks here, either, because I believe in everything CBLF is doing to date and I see it as our best hope of all!
