Hi 194,
A doctor is required to maintain privacy unless they believe that your orientation actually is acted upon. In other words, if they know confidently that you do not act on your attraction than you can tell your doctor. That being said, there is little benefit to them knowing and lots of challenge in telling them. Therefore, I wouldn't suggest doing so unless you are looking for them to provide you some sort of reference for therapy.
