Please go to the link at the bottom of the post. Even though it was addressed to someone who is not a Christian, much of it still applies to those who are Christians. It is part of my story, a brief summary of my three suicide attempts and the events surrounding them. I was lucky - God in His mercy and grace saved me each time. Someone I know was not so lucky - God intervened the first time he attempted suicide and saved him, but not the second time. He was not a Christian, but a BL. God did not intervene at all with my half-brother (he was neither a Christian or a BL) and he succeeded in his first and final attempt to kill himself. Know that you are not alone in either your BL feelings or having thoughts of ending things. Plesae read Psalm 88 - it is the song of those who are in despair. The answer to the questions in verses 10 to 12 is a resounding "Yes!" Even if you are walking through the darkest valley, the Lord is with you (cf. Psalm 23:4). Even if you have made your bed in the depths of hell, the Lord is right there beside you (cf. Psalm 139:8). I want you to know that there is hope. The fact that you are angry with God proves that you do have a relationship with Him. You can have a relationship with God and be a BL - everyone on this board is living proof of it. Hang in there, my friend! When I was suicidal, I went to a local crisis center for suicide intervention counseling. I don't know if they have such a thing where you are but if you do, I recommend you call or go there. They will also probably have contacts of places or shelters you can stay at. I am praying for you - may you rest in the arms of our loving Lord, trust Him, and keep pressing forward, even through the hard times and pain. May His blessings (many of which we do not recognize as such at the time) be poured upon you and may He keep you safe. Love in the Lord, J |
