Hi Muradsman, I liked your distinction between Christians and church goers. Here is a very revealing study: The word "Christian" is only used three times in the whole bible and never in the gospels. In ACTS 11:26 it reads that the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. So, the only word that Jesus uses for his followers are disciples and he uses the word almost three hundred times. Reading through the gospels, Jesus keeps saying, what you must do if you want to be my disciples. My point here is this: All of Jesus' teachings about how to be a disciple have to do with loving, being humble and teachable, forgiving, and so on. Now if Jesus is what Christianity is all about then it sounds to me like most churches that I am familiar with are actually filled with NON-Christians! Certainly, anyone who would hurt others for their sin, is NOT acting in the name of Christianity. They are simply JUDGING. You are not alone. Love, Ben Matthew 7:1 Do not judge, or you too will be judged. |
