I know I'm going to sound a lot like the others: Yes, I believe it really is love. I'm fairly sure that straight men's feelings of love for their wives or girlfriends also have significant amounts of selfishness. In fact, even parents' feelings for their children, and peoples' feelings for close friends involve some selfish aspects. In all these cases, and for us BLers, we must examine our motives and work to keep those that are selfish from causing us to harm the ones we love. Mark |
