Hi foxfire, I don't think it's a disgraceful topic at all, and it is one that you are I both share a struggle with. I have also been involved in masturbation daily since I was about 11 or 12. There were times in my life when I did it 3 times a day, and pretty much lived my life to do this. Because I was not brought up with any guidelines from my dad at all and had no religious convictions, I didn't feel bad about it. My friends all did it and talked about it. By the time I was an adult, I just knew I needed it. From a medical standpoint the act itself is harmless, but from a psychological point of view masturbation can become enslaving (addictive). Forget the fact that it talks about 'pornography' specifically because almost all masturbation which involves fantasy has similar affects. In many ways, if it is so consistent as you describe it and you are constantly fighting yourself to stop it, you (like me) are addicted. From a Christian standpoint, the bible is silent on masturbation. Most of the discussion that I have had on it has brought me to realize that, as an occasional release it is not a devastating sin any more than an occasional accident of drunkeness is. The sinful aspects of masturbation are that they involve the following: LUST: Looking and sexualizing about a woman or boy. IMPURE THOUGHTS: Imagining sexual things with another person, either you doing them or they doing them. IDOLATRY: Worshipping and objectifying a person (created thing) rather than the creator (God). (See Romans 1 below.) Whether or not you have religious convictions about masturbation you need to weight the fact that it might keep you from molesting boys against the fact that you are enslaved to it.
