I accept that all human beings pass judgement on others. I submit, though, that Christians are much more likely to do so because of the nature of the religion. In my experience with Christianity - which is extensive - Christians spend a great deal of their time passing moral judgements on others.

I mean, why else would a person even care what homosexuals do if he weren't interested in judging them? Of what use would it be for Christians to hold national campaigns of intolerance if they don't intend to judge? It seems intrinsic to the faith. It's like it's almost required.

And people like Forgiven who are so vehement in their condemnation make me want to piss nails. It's infuriating that such idiocy and intolerance exists. I guess I just don't understand how people can be such assholes.

As far as the sin argument goes, I don't believe in sin. I find the idea that a supreme being created man and then created an arbitrary list of rules for him to live by to be patently ridiculous. Especially considering that so many of the sins are so basesless - so devoid of any rationality - the entire concept seems either silly or simply sadistic.

Having just finished reading Anne Rice's "Memnoch the Devil," I find her arguments amusing. She proposes that God isn't cruel; he's just stupid and incompetent.

That's about the best defense of the Christian God I think anyone could come up with.
