But I don't see how this guy is going to be able to get around the parts in the Bible that says Homosexual sexual activity is wrong. If I'm misinterpreting my Bible, I'd be happy to hear from other points of view.

I actually found the Courage site linked from the site of a man called Roy Clements, formerly well-known in conservative evangelical circles but now shunned as he's publically faced his own homosexuality. He brings up a good number of the other points if view you refer to in his essay at http://www.royclements.co.uk/essays08.htm.

I've also found a fairly well-reasoned "other point of view" at http://www.whosoever.org/v2i5/defense.html. I particular appreciate the handling of the Leviticus verses.

As for my own point of view, think about it this way. What is the greatest commandment? What is its relationship to the Law?

So if he believes God would not expect gays to be celebate, then logically, God must not expect us to be celebate either. So under his rules, I could go out, fall in love with a willing boy, and commit to a monogomous sexual relationship with him; all with God's blessing.

Ironically enough, I think you're spot on. If you're able to find a boy to have a monogamous relationship with, then yes, it is the same as a monogamous gay relationship, in my opinion. But by "monogamous" I'm implying "lifelong". The only problem is that in practice boys aren't prepared to make lifelong commitments of that nature. They'll generally grow up and start wanting to pursue relationships with girls. As for you, would you be prepared to remain faithful to the boy even as he becomes a man, turns hairy, gains a sqaure jaw, grows paunchy around the waist? Will you love him all the more for that? If not, then let's not talk about "monogamous relationships with willing boys".

As for whether this gay guy will consider how best to minister to paedophiles, it's a regrettable habit of pro-gay Christians to not be willing to extend the same hand of friendship and compassion that they demand be extended to themselves. The conservative churches, I believe, have a better track record of dealing adequately with boylovers than the liberal ones.
