Dear Fleetwood,

I dig the car! Is it a '75 or 76? I'm not too good with guessing years but I'm sure it's got to be a seventies model. Almost all the cars from that era were great big rolling pieces of metal. Love it!

Anyway, about your question. Very rarely have I ever heard of anyone praying for God to make a person misserable, and it would seem that this would go against the grain of Christian teaching. Generally speaking, the rule of thumb is to either pray and ask God to bless someone or else pray for His will in thier life. However, I always feel that we really get way to hung up on doing everything, including prayer, exactly the right way. In fact, prayer is probably a good example of this because so many people love to use "ready-made" prayers out of devotional books, or even the Lord's prayer which is really more of a pattern for us to use to guide us in the way to pray rather than a prayer to be repeated over and over. And although I don't think this is a bad practice, I think that praying from the heart is much better.

God knows what we need before we even ask. He also knows what we mean in our heart even if our words are sometimes not exactly our best or if we just can't find the right words to describe what we feel in our hearts. When we pray it is the Holy Spirit who brings that prayer to God's attention and it is also the Holy Spirit who handles His replies. We can always trust the Holy Spirit to treat all of our prayers with the utmost care and consideration. God will know what we mean, and He always know's our heart.

So, I am sure that actually any way that Tigris asks God for His help to bring his YF to Jesus (which is ALWAYS an honorable thing to ask of God) will be considered and also answered in the same spirit of love and concern that he obviously has for this boy.

God Bless!
With Christ's Love,
Chris
