Hey Ben, Thanks for the post. It takes courage to face ourselves at that level - and more courage to share it with others, so I just want to say thanks. You keep me encouraged by the things you write. It's been very hard to figure out what I medicate with my addiction I know what you mean. But that is the important question, isn't it? I think that loneliness is a huge part of it for me. As I look deep into the eyes of that fantasy boy and search his mind, I realize that he is me. And it begins to make sense why I have a compelling need to hold him, to nurture him, to keep him safe and make him feel loved. The problem is that that boy who needs to learn how to love has grown old and hairy, now. Is it too late? I hope not. Nate |
