thank you.... I realised how big the hole left by my messed up childhood is when I read Ender's Shadow - the 'parallax novel' of Ender's Game (which you should ALL read, and then read 'Shadow'). 'Shadow' still reduces to me floods of tears because of the depth of Bean's isolation and the incredible resolution at the end (not to spoil the story).... Despite nominally growing up in a family, in practice it was grossly disfunctional, and a messed up adolescence (yup - never anyone to eat with in the dining hall either) meant that I ended up with younger boys as my emotional outlet. Which became a habit.... And like others, I've found this place and the friends I've made through it a major support and encouragement. So - let's remember to show our appreciation to Bach and the others who keep this show on the road as often as possible!! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING BACH
