It's often easier to love others than it is to love ourselves. But I think it's very important that we do love ourselves. You aren't ugly. God knows everything about you and thinks you are very beautiful and worthy of love. So much so that he sent His son to die for you. Geez, now I'm sounding like a TV preacher. I know you've heard it all before. So have I. But when I first came to grips with exactly what I was, I hated myself. I had learned only the media's perception of what a pedophile was, so I thought I was the lowest of the low. The few friends that I told about it deserted me. All I had left was God. And He didn't desert me. I can't explain how, but He made me aware of how much He loved me, even though He knew me at my best, and at my worst. It was then that I started to feel a little better about myself. It's kind of hard to hate yourself when God loves you. And I don't mean He loves you like a king might love all his subjects. He loves you like a Father loves an only son. And He can love us all individually like a father loves an only son, because after all; He is God. That's how He got the job. :-) And if He thinks you're worthy of that kind of individual, unconditional love, who are you to argue?
