Interesting thread. Personally, I don't find Haley physically attractive, but I find myself captivated by how well he acts. So serious. I'm fascinated. He's one of those types of boys you'd be proud to mentor, yet I feel he'd be the one doing the mentoring! The DVD version of Pay It Forward has commentary during the entire movie. When I get a chance, I'll listen to that also. Altima mentioned the obvious Christ metaphor, which I didn't even think about, but it makes total sense, and now I know why this movie doesn't have the normal happy ending that most movies are almost required to have. The impact is so much greater. By the way, I saw A.I. with a couple young friends (11 and 12 yrs old). At the end of the movie, I looked over at one of the boys, and he busted out laughing. I started to laugh also. The ending was too weird. And then when we left the theatre, we had nothing to say. |
